Rainforest Canine

Hey There
I’m Taryn Thiara—certified behavior consultant, dog trainer, and the heart behind Rainforest Canine and I’m so glad you’re here. Our mission is to help dogs and their guardians navigate behavior challenges with compassion, empathy, and understanding—because every dog deserves to feel safe, and every person deserves to feel supported. Like a walk through the forest, the journey may have twists and turns, but with patience and trust, we find a clearer path together.

All About Me
My deepest passion has always been dogs. From as far back as I can remember, I’ve felt a pull toward understanding them—what they need, how they feel, and how to help them thrive. It’s why I do this work. Every dog deserves to be seen, heard, and understood, and every guardian deserves to feel supported and empowered on that journey.

I specialize in behavior modification and reactivity, but at the core of what I do is relationship building. My approach is grounded in positive reinforcement and compassion. I believe that kindness and patience create the foundation for lasting change—not just in a dog’s behavior, but in how they experience the world.

This belief comes from personal experience. My dog, Ace, an American Bully, has been my greatest teacher. When he was a puppy, he was startled by a child and developed severe anxiety. By the time he was seven months old, a trainer told me he was “extremely aggressive” and implied there was no hope. But I refused to give up on him. I knew in my heart that he deserved better, so I committed to learning everything I could. I worked with a compassionate trainer, immersed myself in behavior studies, and eventually earned my Behavior Consultant Certification through Dogma Academy.

Today, Ace is thriving. His journey shaped me as a trainer—and as a person. He taught me that every dog has potential, and that with empathy, understanding, and the right support, they can overcome so much.

Rainforest Canine was born from that love and determination. I created this space to help both dogs and their guardians feel safe, supported, and understood. Whether you’re navigating reactivity, fear, anxiety, or simply trying to strengthen your bond with your dog, I’m here to help you every step of the way. You’re not alone in this.

At the end of the day, I do this because I love dogs—deeply, completely—and I care just as much about the people who love them. My greatest joy is seeing dogs and their humans build trust, connection, and confidence together.

When I’m not working with dogs, I’m usually out exploring with Ace, soaking in the beauty of the rainforest we call home.

If you’re ready to start your journey with your dog, I’d be honoured to be a part of it!
